The human alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) marker offered as part of the first trimester Down syndrome screening panel can also be used to screen for neural tube defect screening in the second trimester.

In the second trimester, our assay solutions support all second trimester screening models: 2T Double, 2T Triple and the 2T Quad test. In addition to screening for the common aneuploidies, our solutions can facilitate the early detection of other conditions; our AutoDELFIA® hAFP kit, for example, can be used to determine neural tube defects such as spina bifida.
